EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES
Nathaniel Ellison, MA
As Knippenberg, Patterson & Associates Early Intervention Specialist, Nathaniel works with preschool/kindergarten children to increase impulse control, positive social interactions, and the ability to focus in a group setting such as school.
Nathaniel's weekly group is Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Nathaniel meets the last Tuesday of every month with parents to reinforce the skills taught in group and to support dads and moms as they parent their children.
Prior to receiving his master's degree at the University of Denver, Nathaniel worked with a number of local mental health agencies. He has served as the Youth Development Programmer for Child and Youth Services (an agency similar to the Boys and Girls Club within the military), the former Cleo Wallace Centers, Denver Health and Hospitals, Denver Public Schools and other local professional agencies.
He earned a masters degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver, where he currently works with college students. He is one of the state coordinators for Project Eye-To-Eye, a nationally recognized program designed to match college and high school students, in a mentoring capacity. This program strives to foster increased self-advocacy skills and a greater recognition of the innate strengths that students with ADHD can bring to their educational experience.
